It can be used to produce propyl betaines (e.g., palmamide dimethylpropylamine), fiber softeners, and leather treatment agents to improve fabric softness and antistatic properties. It is a key raw material for synthesizing dyes and ion exchange resins, used in textile printing and dyeing, wastewater treatment, and other fields. As a cyanide-free zinc electroplating additive, it is used in electroplating processes for oils, fibers, and leather to enhance coating adhesion and corrosion resistance. It is an intermediate for fungicides such as propamocarb, used in agriculture to inhibit mold growth. In polyurethane materials, it acts as a chain extender and crosslinking agent for manufacturing high-performance materials such as waterproof coatings and automotive parts.
